26th Winter Universiade - national project
The decision of supreme representatives of the legislative and executive power – the National Assembly and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia approved the Universiade 2013 project, summarised on the initiative of Slovenian University Sports Association (SUSE) by municipalities – Municipality of Maribor, Municipality of Ruše and Municipality of Zreče.
The sports resort Pohorje with its north and south edge despite the already promoted Women world ski cup (Golden Fox) and World cross-country championship in Rogla is now dealing with a new, largest development challenge ever, the Universiade. This event of 2013 will be organised by FISU and three joined municipalities: Municipality of Maribor, Ruše and Zreče, brought together by ambition to take development measures for Pohorje and the city centres surrounding it. These measures with their tendencies for future regional development will be recognised by Slovenia as well as Europe.

After considering the prior consent for the candidature application for the organisation of the XXVI. Winter Universiade 2013 in Maribor and the consent for the aid from State resources EPA 1919-IV, based on the 112. Article of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly (Official Gazette of the RS, Nos. 35/02 and 60/04), first paragraph of the lit. 4, first pragraph, Article 53 of the Sports Law (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 22/98) and II., V. and VI. Paragraph of the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on the process of candidature and organisation of large sport events in the Republic of Slovenia, (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 64/93) at the 34. extraordinary session on the 5th of March, 2008, The National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the
RESOLUTIONS
1. The National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia priorly agreed with the candidature application for the organisation of the XXVI. Winter Universiade 2013 in Maribor and agreed to offer financial aid from State resources. Special resources for FISU organisation rights payment will be provided by the budget of the Republic of Slovenia and will be settled in case of Universiade and in case of 30% of the assumed collective resources needed for project realisation.
2. It is the organiser's obligation to submit an elaborated report on the financial resources usage as well as all the evidence no later than six months after the end of the event.
3. The National Assembly authorises the Government of the Republic of Slovenia to elect the representatives of the Organising Committee for the preparation of the XXVI. Winter Universiade 2013 in Maribor.
